REGISTERED NURSE AT THE SENIOR CENTER
Celeste Kopech is a Registered Nurse working for Salmon VNA and Northborough
Board of Health. She will be providing Blood Pressure checks and answering
medication and general health questions. She says, "I have worked in Home Care,
Acute Care and Board of Health settings for several years.
 
"I'm looking forward to meeting and working with you. My hours are Mondays and
Wednesdays from  9:00am to 12:00pm at the Northborough Senior Center. Feel

LOW VISION SUPPORT GROUP
Date: 2nd Thursday of the Month

A support group for individuals who have impaired vision. Join us for information from
speakers, presentations, and helpful discussions. All are welcome. For more information

STRENGTH AND BALANCE WITH LATHA
Days: Thursdays

Note: Priority given to those not already enrolled in our other strength
and balance classes and Northborough residents.
We are excited to offer this new session of Strength and Balance with Latha.
The best way to prevent a fall is to perform exercises that strengthen your legs,
increase your balance, and improve your breathing pattern (breathing can play a
role in your balance!). This class can be done sitting or standing. The class consists
of 5 mins of warm-ups, 15 mins of weights, 10 mins of resistance bands, 10 mins of
balancing exercise, and 5 mins of cool down with breathing and relaxation.
 

CARDIO AND WEIGHTS WITH SHARON (ZOOM CLASS)
Day: Tuesdays
Time: 10:15 AM
Suggested Donation: $3/class
This class will target both upper and lower body muscles for strength and for toning.
Sharon will also take you through a series of exercises that will focus on core strength
and balance. Abs and lower back will also be targeted. You must  be able to get down
onto a mat or floor space. All fitness levels are welcome to join. Please let Sharon
know before class begins if you have any orthopedic issues which may need to be
addressed with modifications.

CARDIO, STRENGTHEN, STRETCH AND RELAX WITH LINDA B.
Day: Fridays  
Time: 9:00 AM

This class starts with 20-25 minutes of warm-up movements, progresses to chair exercises
with weights and finishes with stretching and relaxation. Great for increasing balance.
Weights are provided. No floor exercises. Adaptable for “chair only” participants.

CHAIR YOGA WITH REBECCA

Instructor: Rebecca Reber 
The benefits of yoga are amazing including greater flexibility, balance, and strength
along with calming the mind and relaxation. This class begins with a meditation and
gentle warm-up to an easy flow of postures in which choices will be given depending
on experience level and then ending in a final relaxation or Savasana. Rebecca has
been practicing yoga for over 15 years.

This class combines strength training for muscle and bone density and stability exercises
to improve balance. The class will use body weight and some props such as chairs and
resistance tubing for additional challenges.

STRETCH BREAK WITH SHARON (Now In Person)
Day: Wednesdays

Stretch Break is a 45 minute class that consists of mat-based stretches for the entire body.
The goal is to have you become more flexible, strengthen your lower back and abdominals
and rid yourself of neck and shoulder pain.

TAI CHI FOR VETS

TAI CHI-TRADITIONAL CHINESE YANG STYLE

Come and learn Traditional Chinese Yang Style Tai Chi, a popular and relaxing
Tai Chi style. It will be taught by Ms. Yunping Hu. She is the champion of multiple
international Tai Chi competitions held in US and the student of Tai Chi master
Sitan Chen. Both beginners and experienced Tai Chi practitioners are welcome.

TAI CHI/QI GONG/MEDITATION
MIND BODY & SPIRIT

Join us for a wonderful session of stretching known as Qi Gong, to improve your
health increase energy and stimulate blood flow. Then relax into some Ancient
Shaolin Temple exercises (all low impact). Then step gently into a progressive
step by step learning of a modified Yang Tai Chi form, from Villari’s Self Defense
studios. This one hour class will end with a guided healing meditation and you will
enjoy your week balanced, focused and aware. Instructor Rev Helen J. Morin,
certified teacher of Tai Chi.

TAI CHI FOR ARTHRITIS

Exercise helps arthritis! Studies show that Tai Chi is a great exercise. Join us for this
special form of Tai Chi designed specifically for arthritis by Dr. Paul Lam, an arthritis
sufferer, who wanted an alternative to medication. We begin with gentle stretching
known as Qi Gong, then we learn step by step the Sun Arthritis form. After practicing
Tai Chi for 45 minutes we have a guided healing meditation leaving you ready for a
beautiful day!

ZUMBA GOLD
