Application Assistance

Fuel Assistance Program

FYS serves as an application site for the Fuel Assistance Program (LIHEAP) through the South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC) in Framingham. We assist residents in their application to this federal program which is designed to help low-income households afford the cost of heat during the winter months. Applications are typically available the end of October/beginning of November.

Eligibility for the program is based on family size and income guidelines set by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. To learn more about LIHEAP, click here.

SNAP

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP: formerly the food stamp program) is a federal program designed to help low-income individuals and families buy the food they need to ensure good health. Benefits are provided on an electronic card and accepted at most grocery stores and many farmer’s markets.

Eligibility for the program is based on family size and annual income guidelines set by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. To learn more about SNAP, click here.
