History

Family & Youth Services (FYS) was founded by concerned residents and was established as a Town Department by a unanimous vote taken by the Board of Selectmen on September 13, 1976.

Since this time, FYS has served as the Town's community-based human service agency. The Northborough schools, police, residents and several others have come to depend upon us. We are proud of our record of service and we are grateful to the taxpayers who have supported our operations these past 40+ years.

Throughout the history of FYS, the Department has also been instrumental in creating new resources in the community. For instance, we helped to create the Northborough Extended Day Program and the Northborough Food Pantry. These programs have resulted in affordable child care for families and free food for residents in need.
