SHINE
Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders
Program provides health insurance counseling services to senior citizens and disabled adults. SHINE counselors are trained to handle complex questions about Medicare, Medicare supplements, Medicare Health Maintenance Organizations, public benefits with health care components, Medicaid, free hospital care, prescription drug assistance programs, drug discount cards, and long-term health insurance. We are very fortunate at the Northborough Senior Center to have two outstanding SHINE counselors, Pauline O'Bray and Sue Foley. FREE Blood Pressure Clinics/Health Clinic
We are very fortuante to have the services of VNA Care Network at the Senior Center. A Nurse is available for blood pressure checks twice a month and she also staffs a Health Clinic Once per month. The Health Clinic is a wonderful opportunity to discuss your medications, ask questions about your health, and have your blood pressure and/or glucose level checked. As many of us know, appointments at our physician's offices are often short not leaving enough time for questions. Judy Manning, RN, is able to give you the time you deserve to discuss your health issues.

Mr. Peter Lee of Professional Hearing in Westboro will be at the Senior Center to provide free hearaing screenings.

Free Low Vision Support Group

Our next Low Vision Support Group meeting will be held in March at the Northborough Senior Center. If you have any type of vision loss these meetings can be very helpful. Our coordinator, Agnes Sagerian, can be reached at 508-393-8353. We welcome you to join our group.
Diabetic Support Group

Join Florian Menninger, Leader and members of the Diabetic Support Group at their monthly meeting. It is not always easy to deal with a chronic condition such as diabet. Come share your ideas and learn from others who are dealing with the same condition. These meetings are open to everyone who is living with diabetes or living with someone who has diabetes.
