HERE’S TO YOUR GOOD HEALTH!
As we have often heard, “If you have your health, you have everything”. At the Senior Center,
we like to promote a healthy lifestyle through programs that advocate maintaining good health through preventative measures.. We have a Wellness Clinic that’s held on the third Tuesday of every month from 12:30 – 2:00 PM. Many of you remember Jeremy KW Spiewak PharmD RPh who worked at Shattuck Pharmacy in Northborough. Jeremy is now working in Southborough and has offered to do a “Brown Bag Medication Review” at our Senior Center during our Wellness Clinic. During the "check-up", the pharmacist will review all of the medications and products you are currently taking. He can double check these medications for the correct dosage strength, frequency, or identify if you are using outdated or discontinued medications. Jeremy can also screen the medications and products for
potential duplication of therapy or side effects. This is why it is important to include non-prescription products in the bag. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and get advice one-on-one with Jeremy, the Pharmacist.
What to bring: • All prescription medicines (including pills & creams). • All herbal medicines.•All over-the-countermedicine you take regularly. • All vitamins and supplements. While appointments are going on with Jeremy, the Wellness Clinic will be running simultaneously. Since we’re offering more services, you will be able to make an appointment with Janet Iacovelli, RN from SALMON VNA & Hospice. Many of us are asked by our Doctor or health care provider to have our blood pressure checked before returning for our next appointment. Janet is happy to help you out with that. She’ll document your blood
pressures so that you ‘ll have a log for the next time you see your health provider. Janet is available to speak with you regarding general health questions and education, referrals, preventative health care advice, medication consultations, and glucose screening for those individuals who bring their own glucometers. This wellness clinic is an opportunity to sit with Janet, the nurse, in a confidential setting and review health questions. Please call for an appointment with the nurse and/or the pharmacist. Walk-ins are welcomed as well..
Additionally, the Northborough Board of Health has generously partnered with SALMON VNA & Hospice to offer a blood pressure clinic the first Tuesday of every month from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the Senior Center.
These services are free of charge and are made possible by the efforts and funding of the Friends of the Northborough
Senior Center, Inc. and the Northborough Board of Health in recognition of the importance of extending public healthservices to our valuable senior population. See the dates and times belowt and then plan to visit with Janet soon!
