HOW TO GET A BRUSH BURNING PERMIT
WHEN ARE THEY AVAILABLE
& WHEN MAY I BURN MY BRUSH ?
Beginning January 1'st of each year, Brush Burning Permits are available at the Fire Station. The season for burning brush is set by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is from January 15 to April 30 of each year.
WHERE IS THE FIRE STATION
& AT WHAT TIMES ARE THEY AVAILABLE ?
The Northborough Fire Station is located at 11 Pierce Street. Pierce Street is the Street that runs from Hudson Street to Church Street. As you turn onto Church Street from Route-20 (Main Street) Pierce Street is your first right. It's located approximately 50 feet down Church Street coming from Main Street. The station is your 3rd building on the left, should you come this way.
Normal business hours are between 0900-1700hrs (9am-5pm). Should circumstances not allow obtaining one at these times, please call 508.393.1537 to make sure personnel are on hand to assist you.
ARE THERE ANY EXCEPTIONS TO THE BURNING RULES ?
There are only a few exceptions to the burning rules. These include such things as burning season extensions for state certified agricultural purposes, religious services, cooking/warming fires, and bonfires. All of these exceptions are regulated by the state with their own regulations and guidelines. Please contact the Fire Department for information on the requirements for each of these type of events.
