WHEN ARE THEY AVAILABLE & WHEN MAY I BURN MY BRUSH ?
Beginning January 1 of each year, brush burning permits are available at the Northborough Fire Station. The season for burning brush is set by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is from January 15 to May 1 of each year.
WHERE IS THE FIRE STATION & AT WHAT TIMES ARE PERMITS AVAILABLE ?
The Northborough Fire Station is located at 11 Pierce Street, Northborough. (Pierce Street is the street that runs from Hudson Street to Church Street - behind CVS.) As you turn onto Church Street from Route 20 (Main Street), Pierce Street is the first right. The fire station is the third building on the left.
Normal business hours are between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
ARE THERE ANY EXCEPTIONS TO THE BURNING RULES ?
There are only a few exceptions to the burning rules. These include such things as burning season extensions for state-certified agricultural purposes, religious services, cooking/warming fires, and bonfires. All of these exceptions are regulated by the state with regulations and guidelines for each exception. Please contact the Fire Department for information on the requirements for each of these type of events.
