Car-1 is assigned to the Chief of the Department and/or the person who is assuming his duties. The vehicle is designed to be a command post resource vehicle and is equipped to assist Incident Command (Incident Commander) at any large incident. Based on these resources it is available for special call if it's resources could assist Incident Command in mitigating a large operation. The vehicle is outfitted with all of the regional radio frequencies, cellular phone, fax machine, personnel accountability boards, tracking tables, and emergency data resources (library and laptop) Most frequently this vehicle, which is assigned to the Chief, responds to the scene of any large incident with him/her. At the scene a Communications Assistant or a Command Assistant may be assigned to operations at the vehicle to assist the Incident Commander with his operations.
